Starting production in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, 'Dark Stories for Scary Kids' is a horror anthology series, and a love letter to the scary stories I used to make up and tell during my childhood. Following a simple premise, every episode telling a different horror story tells a different lesson.
While Dark Stories for Scary Kids's namesake does suggest it is for children, this is a stylistic choice only, its title referencing the horror themed children's tv shows from my youth. It is in fact aimed at horror fans of all ages.
'Dark Stories for Scary Kids' was filmed on the lands of the Wurundjeri people and I wish to acknowledge them as Traditional Owners. I would also like to pay my respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities .

A young boy, warned against exploring the forest next to his house, decides to break his father's rule after the disappearance of his brother.

While on a night time exploration of his house, a young boy discovers that his reflection in the cabinet glass of his family's grandfather clock moves independently of him.

A young girl ignores the rules one day while surfing and swims outside of the flags, only for him to discover a hidden cave in the rocks with a dark secret.
